Surfboards
Surfboards have been around for a long time. In 1777, James Cook sailed to Hawaii. He saw people surfing on boards on the waves. The boards were made of koa wood and redwood. Cook wrote about surfing in his diary.
In 1914, a sports star from Hawaii named Duke Kahanamoku went to Australia. He made a surfboard from a local pine tree instead of the koa trees from Hawaii.
