Simone Biles

When you read about an early childhood like Simone Biles had, you might feel sorry for her. But Simone didn’t feel sorry for herself. She discovered her passion and she worked hard. Now, she’s the most decorated gymnast in history.

Simone had a rough start in life. She was born in 1997 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her mother and father both struggled with addiction. When her dad abandoned the family, her mom just couldn’t cope. For a while, Simone and her three siblings were in foster care, but soon they were adopted. Her new parents have always been supportive of Simone’s gymnastics and proud of her accomplishments, often traveling the world to watch her in competitions.
