Service Dogs

Many people who love dogs would say their dogs are their best friends. Most dogs love people. They stick by their owners. But they can be much more than pets. Service dogs are trained to help people. There are many ways they can help.

Blind or people with low vision often use a service dog called a guide dog. The dog leads its owner and keeps them safe. Deaf people keep dogs to be their ears. Their service dogs are called hearing dogs. They are trained to hear special noises. They tell the person if a baby cries or the fire alarm beeps.
