Roadrunners

Many of us are familiar with the roadrunner bird from the Looney Toons cartoons. We see how the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote do all kinds of fun antics. The roadrunner is an actual bird that is quite interesting.

Roadrunners are part of the Cuckoo family of birds. Most cuckoos live in trees, but others are ground-dwelling. Cuckoos have been around for thousands of years. They have appeared in Greek mythology as being sacred to the goddess Hera, the goddess of marriage and family.
