Let’s Bake Bread

Bread doesn’t have to come from the grocery store. You can make it yourself! It takes some practice and patience. You don’t even need a special machine. If you have a bowl, a cloth, and a bread pan, you’re all set.

Yeast is not a plant or an animal. It’s a special organism called a fungus. It expands or grows when it’s wet and warm. Without yeast, your bread will be flat and hard. Using yeast is the tricky part of making bread.
