Fluent Within training gives readers a place to practice words aloud, revisit a drill, and work toward a reading goal. Practice Read and Timed Read offer two ways to work with the same material, alongside a reading path when one is available.
Training is currently in preview. Availability is limited while the feature is being developed; creating an account does not guarantee training access.
Each session starts with the reader and the material available for their level. Here is the flow inside training when drills are available.
Available drills match the student's reading level. If a reading path is set up, it also shows the current goal and suggested next activities.
Read the drill aloud at a comfortable pace. Take time with unfamiliar words and repeat the practice before moving to a timed read.
When the reader is ready, choose Start Timed Read. Read clearly through the drill for up to one minute; the session can also be stopped early.
Review the saved session and any available reading feedback. Revisit the drill or follow the next activity in the student's reading path.
This short-a word list illustrates the idea of focused practice. Read it together for a simple introduction to word drills.
Read across each row, from left to right.
Read each word aloud. If a word is unfamiliar, pause and work through it together. Read the list again when the reader feels ready, keeping the words clear and accurate.
This sample does not record audio or save a score. In the training preview, signed-in readers use the practice controls on their available drills to save sessions.
Sign in to the account connected to the student. Practice needs a student profile with a reading level and published drills available for that level.
A reading path appears when one is set up for the student. If no drills are available, the dashboard shows a coming-soon message.
