Educator and Organization Addendum
Version 2026-08-20-v2
Who this addendum is for
This Educator and Organization Addendum applies when you use Fluent Within or Scholar Within as a teacher, tutor, school, co-op, or other educational organization to set up and manage students' reading practice. It supplements the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which continue to apply. If anything in this addendum conflicts with the general Terms for your educational use, this addendum controls.
Your authority and responsibilities
You represent that you provide educational instruction to each student you add to your roster and that you have the authority, under applicable law and your relationship with each student's family or school, to set up and manage the student's participation in this educational program.
You are responsible for the accuracy of your roster, for providing families any notices your school or program requires, for recording a parent or guardian contact when one is available, and for promptly removing students who leave your instruction.
When you attest school authorization for a student's use of the AI Reading Coach, you do so as an educator for a school-authorized educational purpose. A parent or legal guardian can decline or revoke at any time, and their decision always overrides your attestation.
Solely educational use
Student information collected under your roster is used solely to provide and improve the educational service. It is never sold, never used for advertising or marketing, and never used to build commercial profiles. Student experiences on our sites exclude marketing, promotions, and third-party advertising or tracking technologies.
You agree to use student information available to you (results, recordings, progress) solely for educational purposes connected to your instruction of that student.
Student log in
You may enable an individual login for a student on your roster. Student accounts are provisioned by you, limited to reading practice and the student's own progress, and have no access to billing, settings, marketing, or answer keys. You are responsible for issuing and safeguarding student credentials and may reset or disable them at any time.
Subscriptions and access
Student access provided through your roster depends on your (or your organization's) subscription remaining active. If a payment fails, access continues through a short grace period while you resolve it; if the subscription ends, student access pauses. Pausing access does not delete any student data. Profiles, results, and recordings remain under the applicable retention settings, and access resumes if the subscription is reactivated.
Data protection and retention
Student data under your roster is handled as described in the Privacy Policy, including its provisions for school-authorized use. Retention for school and organization scopes follows the applicable agreement; absent one, the standard identifiable child data retention settings apply. Families retain their rights to review, revoke, and request deletion, and a family may take over management of their child's profile through the ownership-transfer process when your instruction ends.
Acceptance and changes
You accept this addendum for yourself and, if you create or administer an organization, on that organization's behalf. We record the version you accepted and when. If we make material changes, we will ask you to review and accept the updated version before you continue using the educator features it covers.
